Audience:
This is suitable for anyone who works directly with children (up to the age of 11).
Aim:
To increase your knowledge and understanding of early years 0-5 and primary school age 5-11 years children’s mental health.
To be able to effectively promote, support and safeguard children’s mental health.
Learning Outcomes:
- Apply insights into relational connections from pregnancy throughout primary schools and its impact on mental health
- Demonstrate an understanding of how to promote good mental health for children
- Identify the key developmental needs in promoting good mental health
- Identify key indicators that a child may be struggling mental health may be deteriorating
- Consider the mental health needs that may be underpinning behaviours – behaviour as communication
- Consider the language we use to ensure good mental health is promoted
- Ways to support parents to support their own and their child’s mental health
- Practical ways to support children’s mental health within the developmental brackets 0-1, 2-3, 3-5, 5-7, 7-11
